Slovakia solar project
Šariš Brewery and Enery sign virtual PPA from new power plant in
The solar park in Eastern Slovakia will be built in the next six months on an area of 8.8 hectares. It will include 10 582 PV modules with an installed capacity of 6.3 MWp that will supply electricity to the Slovak power grid. The brewery will offtake the same amount of electricity from the grid as will be supplied by the solar park.
Slovak Renewable Electricity Market Report 2022
The current Slovakia''s NECP projects a solar PV target of 1,200 MW cumulatively installed in 2030. While the NECP does not specify the cha-racter of these capacities, it is to be assumed that both ground-mounted and rooftop PV will play a role in harvesting Slovakia''s solar potential.
Power plant profile: Zemianske Kostolany Solar PV Park, Slovakia
Zemianske Kostolany Solar PV Park is a 10MW solar PV power project. It is planned in Trencin, Slovakia. According to GlobalData, who tracks and profiles over 170,000 power plants worldwide, the project is currently at the announced stage.
Slovakia''s solar additions hit 220 MW in 2023
Estimates from the Slovak Association of the Photovoltaic Industry (SAPI) indicate that Slovakia likely added around 220 MW of solar capacity in 2023.
Roof Photovoltaics
Due to changes in legislature and the introduction of the option of a „local source of electricity" for own use up to 500 kWp of installed capacity since January 2019, we started to also offer installations of roof photovoltaic systems. Thanks to our long-term experience with solar power plants, we will provide you a tailor-made []
Enery Launches New Solar Power Plant to Supply Šariš Brewery in
The Austrian-based renewable energy provider Enery has officially opened its solar power plant in the Iliašovce Municipality. Developed by Enery, this new facility will supply clean electricity to Šariš Brewery through Slovakia''s first-ever virtual power purchase agreement (vPPA).
PV Project Nr. 300 Slovakia rooftop solar
Project Nr. 300 with a 500 KWp power output was installed in Slovakia. Assembly works were finished in December 2022. The development of the installation took 3 weeks. Together 10 experienced engineers were part of the installation process.
Slovakia''s largest solar power plant to be built in the west
The largest solar power plant in Slovakia should be built in the village of Jaslovské Bohunice (Trnava Region). Planned by the semi-state Jadrová Energetická Spoločnosť Slovenska (JESS) company, the new solar park with a performance of 48 MWh is expected to cost €60 million.
Saris Brewery contracts power from Enery solar project in Slovakia
Saris Brewery, part of Asahi Europe & International, has agreed to procure the entire output of a new 6.3-MWp solar farm to be built in eastern Slovakia by Vienna-based renewable energy company Enery.

6 FAQs about [Slovakia solar project]
Why are new solar PV plants being installed in Slovakia?
Soaring energy prices, new re-served capacities for renewables, and a few incentive schemes, among other factors, are likely to result in new large-scale solar PV plants being deployed in Slovakia, significantly increasing the installed capacity in coming years.
How many MW are there in Slovak solar power?
While the so-called solar boom was not as intensive as in some other Member States, for instance, in Czechia, the Slovak electricity market still experienced a rise of installed PV capa-city by over 300 MW in a single year. 573 MW. The past development of solar PV capacities is illustrated in Graph 2 provided below.
Does Slovakia have a rooftop solar energy potential?
According to the report Rooftop Photovoltaic Energy Potential in Slo-vakia (2023), drafted for SAPI by Energiewerkstatt, Slovakia has a theo-retical (realisable) rooftop PV potential of around 37 GW.
How can Slovakia stay on track with solar PV?
In order to stay on track, Slovakia needs to implement the total of 2,855 MW in solar PV plants by 2030. Hence, this scenario requires a clear action of the Slovak Government and a preparation of an enabling investment environment that would allow for a rise of new solar PV capacities.
How much solar PV will Slovakia need in 2050?
As shown in the zero-emission scenario, Slovakia will need to implement at least 7,500 MW of solar PV installed in 2050 if it aims to reach its carbon-neutrality. This target – as well as the 2030 milestone target – is more than double of that set in the NECP.
Does Slovakia have a hydropower plant?
Over the last decade, Slovakia witnessed a gradual increase in the installed capacity of hydropower plants – mainly ones falling into the category of small hydropower plants (SHPPs) with lower installed capacity of up to 10 MW and micro-ones of up to 100 kW. The total capacity of hydropower peaked at 2,574 MW in 2021.
